SEEDS - Lunaria alba

$6.00
Sold Out

This special white-flowering Lunaria variety blooms in airy clouds of crisp white flowers in spring that mature into the pearlescent moon plant we all know and love by late summer. All stages of bloom are useful in arrangements—flowers have a good cut vaselife, as do the young pods, which look like green coins… but the true magic comes when seed heads are left to dry completely on the plant. Then the dull papery husks that encase the mature seeds can be easily removed to expose the everlasting magic in between! Allow stalks to dry fully on the plant before cleaning for dry use as husks will be easier to remove.

Easily grown in moist garden soils in full sun to part shade. Does best in dappled shade here in our hot climate, but can thrive in part shade to full sun in northern/cool summer gardens. A biennial, Lunaria plants will produce low growing foliage their first year and bloom the following spring. They readily reseed in most climates, and after a few years in a favorable location you should have flowers every spring once plants fall into their natural growing rhythm. We haven’t experienced this but hear Lunaria can become a reseeding nuisance in some climates if not planted responsibly.

Seed pack contains approx. 50 seeds.

These seeds will ship in February. At this time we are only able to ship within the continental US.
