This indigo species has become the catalyst for indigo revival in the US. An easy to grow annual, Japanese indigo can thrive in most gardens with rich, well draining soil. Prefers full sun, but can tolerate partial shade. This particular seed strain originated in Tokushima, the heart of modern indigo production in Japan! We have been growing and saving this seed for over a decade. Polygonum tinctoria.
