ZINNIA CIRCLE 2025

Join us this spring, summer, and fall as we gather in a sweet online community circle to expand horizons and celebrate our shared love of Zinnias!

Maybe you will be growing zinnias for the first time in your garden this summer, or perhaps you have loved them for years. Wherever you are on your path with these special flower spirits, my intent for this offering is to give us each a chance to discover something new and magical!

I have spent the most recent decade in a soul dance with zinnias, against the backdrop of my lifelong companionship with plants. If there is one thing I can attest to, it is that beyond their humble reputation, zinnias sparkle with mystery, curiosity, and seemingly infinite possibility.

Those who are familiar with Dawn Creek Zinnias will know that since 2016, our farm has been conjuring an astounding range of new zinnia varieties with colors, shapes, textures, and personalities previously unknown in the cut flower world, and in 2020 we began sharing our seeds with the wider world.

Along the way I have connected with so many of you who have supported our work in myriad ways, and who share a deep love and curiosity about these flowers. My hope in hosting this group is to offer a more intimate way to connect with you, and that those who are drawn to join me will have an opportunity to inspire and uplift each other on our journeys, wherever they may lead.

Hosted within our own private online platform, this circle is meant to offer a warm, supportive space where fellow zinnia lovers can gather along the arc of the season…

Imagine the feeling of wandering through sparkling gardens together, or meeting to rest our feet on a proverbial back porch in the shade. This space is being created to offer a fresh setting to soak up inspiration and cross pollinate zinnia-infused experiences and ideas… to delight in and celebrate the expansive possibility that surrounds these special plants (and the people that love them!).

Zinnias thrive in conditions that foster warmth and cross pollination, and my sense is that those of us tending to them may also benefit from warm, welcoming, fertile ground where we can connect and exchange our excitement and experiences.

I will be hosting this space and sharing facets of my work along the way, with ample opportunity for percolating questions, discussions, celebrations, and ways to lift each other up. Below you will find more info about this community offering, and answers to some common questions.

If this calls to you, I hope you will be able to join us!

Warmly,

Kori Hargreaves

What is Zinnia Circle?

Zinnia Circle is an online community platform & membership I am nurturing away from the chaos and noise of social media, where we can find one another. We will be able to share photos, stories, resources, enjoy live group discussions, and delight in fun surprises throughout the season—I can’t wait to meet you there! Each month I will bring a seasonal theme to the group, offer windows inside my own work, and be there with you sharing photos, contemplating questions, and more.

Where is Zinnia Circle hosted?

I am building this community using Circle.so—a clean, easy to use (at least in my experience thus far!), community-oriented platform where we can share photos, videos, and conversation with ZERO ads, soliciting, or any uninvited distractions.

Who is Zinnia Circle for?

This membership is for anyone who has a love of zinnias, resonates with my work, and is moved to connect with me and other zinnia lovers, artists, gardeners, farmers, breeders, and seed stewards in a more intimate online setting. If you aren’t familiar with me and my style, you can head over and read this in-depth interview I did with Erin at Floret, and/or listen to me speak with the lovely ladies at the Let’s Grow Girls podcast to get a sense if my work resonates with you!

What are the pricing options?

Membership is $220 USD Annually (roughly $18/month, with payment plans available).

Membership fees go directly towards the cost of hosting and maintaining the platform. If you feel moved to sponsor a scholarship for someone in need, you can do so here! In the same vein, if you are in need and would like to join the list to receive scholarship assistance if/as it becomes available, you can do so here.

When does it start?

Our site will officially open April 1st, with introductions, early season resources, and community chats, and our first live group gathering will be mid-April. The chat and feed with photo sharing and Q&A will always be open, and I will host monthly live meet-ups through mid November. All live video recordings will be available to view at your own pace for the duration of your membership.

When does it end?

I will be adding monthly resources and inspiration to the site and hosting live gatherings April through November. Then, like our beloved Zinnia spirits, I will honor the season and we will take a deep winter rest December-February. I will not be hosting monthly live meetings and adding anything new over the winter months, and will go inward to regenerate and vision for the next year. The community chat will remain open and alive during this time for connecting and sharing experiences year round, and if you are joining from the southern hemisphere there will continue to be space to share inspiration and conversations through what is your summer season.

ABOUT ME

Hi, I am Kori, the heart and hands behind Dawn Creek Farm and Dawn Creek Zinnias. I live in the Santa Cruz Mountains of California with my family, and am a mama to a five year-old shining sun.

My companionship with plants began in childhood, and has been integral to the magic and medicine of my life ever since. My background includes degrees in plant biology, fine arts, and process-oriented facilitation, alongside two decades of farming and gardening (including running a successful wholesale cut flower farm). While no longer practicing, I have also trained extensively in Craniosacral Therapy, Aikido, and Tai chi. I began my plant breeding journey in 2012, working with indigo and natural dyes, and this calling has evolved and flourished, with the help of community near and far, into the miracle that is Dawn Creek Zinnias.

This spring through fall, I will be hosting a monthly online gathering space centered around Zinnia-inspired topics, with monthly live sessions and a seasonal community forum where participants can share our curiosity, experiences, and zinnia photos with each other as we find our way through this fresh cycle around the sun.

This container is meant to offer a warm, supportive space where members can connect along the arc of the season. We will have the chance to soak up inspiration, cross pollinate zinnia-related experiences and ideas, and celebrate the expansive possibility that surrounds these special plants (and the people that love them!). I will be inviting in several very special guests from the world of plant breeding and seed saving along the way.

Topics I will bring to the circle will follow the curve of the season, from seed starting, planting, backyard breeding, zinnia-centered craft projects, seed harvest, pest/disease management and more. All live video recordings will be available to view at your own pace for the duration of the circle.
